Job Description

Be the owner of organizational and quality tasks on the delivery of specific contracts (R&D and production):

For customer projects, the different tasks are described hereunder. Please note that some of the tasks will be required in a pre-sales mode, as the Project Manager will be part of the teams estimating the workload and the timing for an upcoming project.

Before the kickoff of the project, and with input from the CTO, the Hardware and Software teams, draft (i) High level Management Plan and prepare (ii) the necessary documentation for the project

These documents cover notably:

  • Preliminary Risks, Resources, Communication, Planning
  • Tracking report, Progress report, Bill Of Material (System level), , Acceptance Test Report, List Of Deliverables, Meeting Minutes

During the delivery phase, PMO shall act also as a Project Quality Manager, verifying/acting such that all quality steps needed on the R&D/production delivery are met, would the production be done on- or off-site

  • coordinating the efforts of the technical teams (SW / HW) by ensuring that the checks and synchronizations between these teams are done
  • communicating with the customer

At the closing of a delivery:

  • verifying that tests and documentation (User Guide, notably) are performed and delivered to customer on time (with help and input from technical teams)
  • ensuring customer acceptance of the delivered products
  • hosting the internal closing meeting (end status of the project on timing, resources and financials, goods and bads of the project, …)

During the maintenance contract phase

  • ensuring smooth issues resolution and assist/chase sales team to fulfill related customer needs.
  • planning all contractual (or quality) actions follow-up; initiate the actions until end of contract
  • following-up on existing maintenance/license contracts and their expiration date, and informing the Sales team if applicable

For internal R&D projects, the tasks are quite similar even if there is no communication or deliverables for an end-customer.

In parallel, driving the process for a better Quality Management System

Minimum Qualifications:

  • You have a technical background.
  • You can demonstrate at least 5 years of successful project management roles in the past.
  • You can demonstrate your ability to understand an IT environment, programing languages, and constraints linked.
  • You are able to demonstrate a level of risk management and quality management in adequation with the local challenges and company policies. Experience in ISO 9001 and railways industry standards (CENELEX EN 50126, 50128, 50129, 50155, … is a plus.
  • You can show your ability to evolve inside a complex environment despite the “keep it simple” philosophy.
  • You are result oriented and are able to use the right level of communication with very different counterpart profiles (customers, suppliers, colleagues).
  • You have a pragmatic understanding of leadership and ownership.
  • You are able to coach (or even mentor) people in the field of project management, without reference to heavy PM methodologies.
  • You are fluent in French and English, and master at least one more other European language, Dutch being a plus.
